Safety on campus??

Recently there was a rape on north campus and a shooting incident at south campus. I thought buffalo is safe place but then think again -.-

University Police are looking for two suspects in the rape of a UB student that occurred at about 5 p.m. today on the North Campus.

The suspects approached the victim in a parking lot in the vicinity of Lake La Salle. The victim was pushed into their vehicle, driven to a parking lot in an isolated area of campus and assaulted.

Police describe one suspect, the driver of the car, as a white male with short brown hair, sideburns and a hoop-style earring in his right ear. The second suspect was described as wearing a black ski mask, dark nylon jacket and tan boots.

Their vehicle, which had a UB parking hang tag, is described as a four-door, full-size, Grey car with rust around the passenger rear wheel well and a Grey cloth interior; the vehicle's gear shifter is on the column.

Off-Campus Shooting Incident Being Investigated

The Buffalo Police Department is investigating an off-campus shooting incident that occurred in the University Heights district Tuesday, November 20, at around 1:30 a.m., according to Gerald W. Schoenle Jr., chief of police, University at Buffalo.

The victim was driving westbound on Winspear Avenue between Bailey Avenue and Main Street. The victim reported hearing 2-3 shots as the back window of his vehicle was hit. Flying broken glass hit the victim in the back right shoulder, causing a minor injury. The victim saw 2 black males on foot in the area at time of the incident (described as a tall black male in dark, baggy clothing and a shorter black male dressed similarly). The two males left the area on Winspear heading eastbound.

The victim approached a University Police officer on Main Street to report the incident. Officers from the University Police and the Buffalo Police responded, but the suspects were not located.
